Confused about the title of this blog? Me, too! When I created it, I naively thought using the word “daily” would be incentive for me to write daily. What I actually succeeded in generating, however, was the grandmother of all writer’s blocks: the pressure to write something post-worthy every day paralyzed me.
It took me a few years to pierce the deer-in-the-headlights fog and let go of the daily posting thing. With support from local writing groups and classes, I’ve recovered and am living my dream of writing every day. I just don’t post everything I write, which I consider to be my most significant contribution to literature so far.
For the record, the blog worked as I hoped it would. It just didn’t work exactly in the way I imagined. (Insert life lesson here.)
